Sealed with ART*2 safety certificate: tex-lock eyelet
You have searched for it, asked for it, demanded it - now it is finally here. Our tex-lock eye let series (Edit 2022: and also the tex-lock orbit) has passed the test for the independent safety certificate "ART". In the future, all eyelet products of the eyelet X/U series may adorn themselves with the ART*2 seal of approval. We are proud that our tex-lock eyelet bears this independent seal of quality.

The Dutch must know
The Dutch ART Foundation focuses on mechanical anti-theft measures for all kinds of "two-wheelers". After all, the Dutch should know, they have the most bicycles per inhabitant and square kilometre worldwide, 18 million bikes in total. Even there, "fiets jatten" - stealing bicycles - is still a popular sport, much to the chagrin of many bicycle owners. The ART Foundation has set itself the goal of raising the overall level of theft protection. Their standard has established itself far beyond the country's borders. Bicycle locks with the ART seal of quality are only approved by the ART Foundation after comprehensive mechanical security tests at the SKG-IKOB.
On the safe side with ART*2
The Foundation recommends that you lock your bicycle with an ART*2 category lock. A star system is used: The more stars a lock has, the more secure but also more massive it is. The ART*3 and ART*4 levels are primarily used for scooters and motorbikes and weigh between 3kg and 4kg. Bicycle locks in the ART*2 category weigh on average 2kg or more. A tex-lock eyelet in size M with U-lock weighs only approx. 1.5 kg. So we have fought our way into this ranking as a real lightweight! On the ART website you can find out which bike locks have an ART website.
Insurance companies love ART
All bike owners want to protect their beloved bike from thieves as best as possible. At Texlock, we recommend that you invest in an independently certified bike lock when buying a bike, and that you also take out bike insurance. In the Netherlands and Germany, many insurers require customers to use a lock with the ART seal of approval. The ART*2 seal for the tex-lock eyelet is always valid in combination with the tex-lock U-locks. You can find more tips on how to lock your bike properly on our practical page.
