The requirements for a high-quality e-scooter lock are special, as the slim design makes it difficult to connect the e-scooter securely.

Special requirements for a good e-scooter lock
A secure lock for e-scooters must take into account the special dangers associated with the slim design of the vehicles. The more expensive the e-scooter was, the more valuable it is, and the more often and longer it is parked in environments where theft is common or easily overlooked, the higher the risk. Consequently, it is all the more important to connect the electric scooter correctly with a secure lock. These locks only offer moderate theft protection
The brake disc lock is the worst performer in the e-scooter lock comparison.
It only blocks the tire and is therefore only an immobilizer. It should therefore not be used as an electric scooter lock on its own, but as an additional security measure.
The folding lock and the handcuff lock for e-scooters form the center. The folding segments may be too wide and rigid to wind through closed frame parts. This rigidity prevents the lock from being fixed close to the frame, which in turn provides more scope for attacks with cutting tools. The same applies to the chain of handcuff locks, which is more flexible, but can also rattle annoyingly and cause paint scratches.
Cable and chain locks in combination with a U-lock are often too thick to fit through the closed frame parts. They are usually heavier than the tex–lock, which makes them less comfortable to ride and transport. Only rarely are all components fully encased, making them less paint-friendly and weather-resistant. Similar to the handcuff lock, these models can also rattle annoyingly.
